Hey Everyone -
Sorry I haven’t been around in a while. My life has turned quite busy in the last several months. My husband started a law practice where I have been working a couple of days a week. My son started kindergarten where I volunteer one day a week. We added is feisty, mischievous, adorable Boston named Bree.
I somehow thought when my little boo started school that I would have this new found freedom, loads of extra time, and tons of workouts under my belt, home projects completed galore, a little time for bon bon eating.....not working out that way so far, but I feel pretty content at the moment. Life rarely goes as planned.
I feel like I am in a quiet season right now. Some pretty great people have entered my life unexpectedly....I have what I truly believe is an Angel from God in my husband’s office. She makes me laugh out loud and she challenges me to trust in the Lord like I know I should. I’ve met a whole group of beautiful, captivating women in a bible study I attend on Tuesdays. There is a bond we share that can’t be broken and I am eternally grateful for that.
On another note, I haven’t been doing much sewing lately. On the one hand I think I needed a break....creatively and mentally. I needed to be inspired again...to have that passion I used hold that made me want to race upstairs to sew as soon as my little guy settle into bed. I haven’t felt like that in so long. I worried for awhile that I had lost my passion for buzzing away at my machine, but now I feel like that season is coming again soon. I hope so.
Well I just remembered that I preheated my oven to roast some asparagus and cauliflower about 2 hours ago. Maybe I should go put the veggies in... (and maybe set the timer).
On that note, I think I’ll go.

Please stop by my printables page to check out some holiday updates.

xoxo
becky
We were fortunate enough to enjoy a great vacation with the whole family this year. My brother and sister-in-law are headed to Scotland in a month, so it was wonderful to have the whole family together before the big move. The kids loved their time together. It was wonderful to see the boys playing so well. I am gonna miss them all so much. I’ll have one more opportunity to say farewell in a few weeks. It’s going to be ugly. I don’t want to think about it.
After the beach we headed to the ranch to spend the 4th of July weekend with our dear friends, the Nielsens. It was a great time. Mom really outdid herself. The food was unbeatable. (thanks so much mom and dad) The Nielsens were our neighbors when we first moved to Richmond and we miss them terribly.
After the Ranch I headed back home and Aiden while stayed in Oklahoma to enjoy some Lazy T Ranch fun. He’ll be back soon. We’ve miss him alot, but he love hanging at the ranch. And this year he’ll be bringing a little addition back with him. He’ll be flying back with an adorable Boston Terrier named Bree. I am so excited---I’m about explode.
I‘ve tried to stay busy while Aiden’s been away. Spending the days steam cleaning furniture, painting the kitchen, redecorating the sunroom, restaining the deck, etc. Let’s just say I was a little late for spring cleaning this year.
Oh...and I’ve bee updating my website...finally. Sorry about that. I’ve added tons of new printables and tutorials. Check them out if you get a second.
Hope your summer is going great!

As I sit here preparing to launch my new line. I have to say I am blessed. March certainly came in like a lion, but has ended so sweetly.
Our family was fortunate enough to have some very special guests this month. On the 20th, my sister Amanda and her talented bestie, Christine came for a visit. Amanda brought my adorable nephew and Christine brought her camera. She did a family session with us as well as photographed some of my new line of goodies. Wow, she is so talented. This is an experience our family will never forget. She has truly give us a treasure that will be cherished.
Thank you Christine! And a very special thanks to Amanda - not only did you share your good friend with us, you took a 20 hour car trip with a 6 month old. You deserve a medal. It was so great to see you both.

As Christine and Amanda were leaving, my Mom was arriving. She stayed for 7 days and completely organized my life while she was here. What a talented lady. I am a true Martha Stewart ---- wannabe. I aspire to her organizational greatness. Nothing makes me happier than a neatly appointed space (well accept for a hot chocolate chip cookie), but alas I can’t seem to achieve most of my neatness goals. Well... let me just say “Mom to the Rescue!” My sewing studio looks like Martha herself came done from her Bedford farmhouse and waived her magic wand. She is pretty much awesome at organizing. Aiden had a hard time today at the airport. We dropped Granny Lou off and Aiden cried the whole way home. He loves his Granny and so I do I. See you in June, Granny Lou!

I can’t tell you how grateful I am for such generous visitors. It has been so nice.

p.s. - and for those of you wondering...the bill for St. Mary’s = $24,892.00. Thank God for insurance.

It is March 11 and this has already been a crazy month. I am really hoping the saying is true and March goes out like a lamb.
February ended with a great trip to visit my good friend, Rachel. Tennessee is so beautiful anytime of year. It was wonderful to have a girly weekend. so fun.
March 1 started off to be a great morning. I was meeting my dear friend Tara for lunch. I dutifully tore apart the house Monday morning for my routine cleaning... shower curtains down, laundry piled in the kitchen ready to be washed, vacuum waiting in the living room, sheets off the beds. Had I realized where I would end up that day, I think I may have planned my morning differently.
Tara, Aiden and I went to lunch at a great standby - Panera, then headed to a cool fabric shop.
By 2pm I was in the ER with what they thought was a stroke or heart attack. I was scared and confused.
After 2 nights in the neurological center at St. Mary’s I was given a clean bill of health. They can’t figure out what happened, but they can say whatever did happen didn’t cause permanent damage.
I felt like a pin cushion. I had 20 viles of blood taken, 2 CT scans, an EEG, TEE, EKG, MRI, and chest x-rays.
My wonderful in-laws took Aiden for us and Ron was wonderful. I felt so bad for him. We were so nervous about the possible prognoses: stroke, heart attack, brain tumor, pending major stroke, brain damage, MS. I desperately wanted to know what happened to me, but as were finding out what the doctors were testing for, I wasn’t sure I wanted to know anymore.
I am so thankful that everything came back normal. And now I can honestly say I have had an executive class physical. Maybe I should start training for a triathlon.
While I was in the hospital, Ron’s office phones stopped working, he got a flat tire, and was run off the highway by another car. Yikes - we have had a rough month so far.
Gladly, Aiden seems no worse for the wear. Oh, to be four years old. Those were the good old days. :)
I was in amazement as we drove from Tulsa to the Grand Canyon and back. It was really something. So many mountains, beautiful plains, yummy food.
Aiden did a great job on the trip. What a sweet boy. Four days in the car is enough to make you crazy, but Aiden didn’t complain. He probably watched about 100 movies on the trip.
His response to the Grand Canyon ---”well, it’s kind of just a lot of mountains.”
We took old Route 66 when we could. That was a blast. So many great hotels, curio shops, diners. My dad was such a trooper. Mom and I wanted to stop the car about every 15 minutes to take another picture.
We ended the trip in Santa Fe. What a magical place. Our condo was so cozy and located on top of the city. The views were breathtaking. Mountain ranges all around. I wish Ron could have come with us. He would have loved it.
A big highlight came on our last day. Mom and I went into a yarn shop where I met Amy Butler. AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! I was so excited. She was such a warm person--so friendly.
I am so thankful for such a wonderful experience.
Thanks Mom and Dad. I’ll never forget it.
